For those of you who know me, as I'm sure most of you do, you know how much I adore my little girls, and LOVE showing them off! I think they are the most beautiful and wonderful children God ever graced mankind with, but honestly don't most mothers feel that way? This past month I got a chance to take them out to Camp 18, here on this beautiful West Coast of ours, and just snap some gorgeous pictures of these two!

Here is our little beauty, Kaitlyn. She just turned 8.

And our little angel Elorna. Our 10 year old sweetheart!

It was pretty darn cold out there, and they were so good natured about the whole thing! I was very proud of them for holding it together. For those of you with kids, you'll understand!

Even with the sweaters, Elorna was still freezing!

Camp 18 used to be a longing camp back in the 60's or 70's. The original people who owned the camp, still own it today and they have a beautiful restaurant and gift shop there. This was taken right behind that building by the little stream.
You just can't get backdrops like this at a studio!

On our way back to the car we found all this old logging equipment. It was really cool looking. There might have been a sign saying to please stay off of it.... but I don't see one in the pictures, do you? What the girls are laughing at, I haven't a clue. There was no one over there, maybe a cat, but man, whatever it was sure was funny!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoying my girls with me. Stay tuned, I'm sure to have more for Christmas!

Leave a message...I've gone to Washington!

Labor day was bitter sweet this year. Labor days in the past we've spent BBQing with the Bayless's and enjoying the last bit of summer. This year, our Bayless's are gone, and our summer ended with triple digits (And if you know me, that is not good!)
However, the silver lining this year was our trip to Washington. How is that a silver lining? Here is my picture journal of why the grass is greener in Washington...at least for now!

Packed and ready to go....or are we?

We should have left right after work, or that was my plan, but Elorna had other ideas! Her stomach didn't feel well, and just as we reached the Washington border, we had to pull over. She felt so bad, we turned around, and my plan was to start fresh the next morning.
She passed out in the car, just so tired!
We got home, she felt better! Imagine that! So she ate, and we decided to try again, of course, now is was 8:30 and all signs of light were gone.
We went again, and everything seemed great, till about 30 miles into Washington, I hear her grab for the barf bowl and use it well. We pulled over, she felt really good after that! The rest of the drive, piece of cake! We got to Tracie's house about midnight. The girls went straight to her bed and crashed, not another word from them at all!

The next morning IHOP! Very yummy! The girls were so excited to see Auntie Tracie again!
A few of our traditional car photos and we were off to the yarn store!!!

Well okay, one more! Who can say no to photos!

On our way to Starbucks, then home to make a big yummy dinner!

Ani was excited for lasagna too!
Finally Teresa showed up with her kids and boyfriend, Ed. Kaitlyn jsut loves to bug poor David...though secretly I think he had a blast with the girls!
Mary, david and Kaitlyn pyramid!

The Kaitlyn Sandwich special. With a side of smooshed Ivana, and for desert, a wonderful giggly Elorna!

Finally it was time to settle down and watch America's Funniest Videos. But I think the show these kids put on was funnier than any video on TV!

Attach!!!

Tracie, Ivana and Teresa!

All the kids now!

Our Little Ladybug!

Elorna also had a project due right before the end of school. Thank goodness no board needed! We decided to do a cake for her Ladybug project too! She had so much fun, but let me tell you folks, that spray color gets everywhere, don't believe how easy it sounds on the side of the can! It takes weeks to completely remove it from your counters!

As you might have noticed, this ladybug is not your average black spotted one. I thought for sure she would do that one, but she chose the California Ladybug instead. I must say, it looks good enough to eat!

So excited to bring this into her class! Here is her model of the ladybug home.
And you know what....She got 100% on her project, and unlike Kaitlyn's cake, no one ate it!

The Duck Named Drake.....The Cake

Every second grader at my girls school gets to learn about a bird that lives naturally in Oregon. Last year Elorna did hers on some bird I've never heard of and quite honestly had no interest in learning about. But she did and she enjoyed the project! This year, I was very glad that Kaitlyn did her project on the Mallard Duck. She was very excited about it since Nana and Papa have mallards in their pond and we hear how they are doing weekly.
One day, Jack and I went to Joann's to find things to make her model of a mallard. We looks at foam balls, and fabric, ribbons and wires, and finally in our last pass around the store, came to the baking section. I saw a mold for a rubber ducky cake, very cute, and decided that was the way to go! Jack was a little hesitant, wanted me to ask the teacher if she was alright with it, but I assured him, she had stated it was completely up to the student.
Kaitlyn loved the idea, and really enjoyed making it. I helped a very little, it was mostly her. Her friend Cameron was impressed so much she just had to show her mom. Taryn (Her mom) Also was impressed. Way to go Kaitlyn!!!

Greasing up the pan! That was so gross!

Cake batter in!

Practicing her oral report!

Hot Duck!!!

It took two cake mix boxes for this little duck! He was heavy!

Having a blast!!!

Here she is at school today showing him off. He looked great, and all the kids wanted to eat him!

My Little Super Star!!!

Anyone who knows my little Kaitlyn would not be surprised that when she saw a lacrosse game for the first time last week, she just had to play! We signed her up 3 days before the season started. Saturday was her first day. Practice is an hour long, and Elorna and I watched the whole thing from the field bench. It was really cool to watch 100 1st & 2nd graders playing so well for the first time. Elorna took some great pictures (Below) and even though she thought she'd never want to play, the very next day after her first lesson with Coach Kaitlyn she now is on board for next season!

Kaitlyn and one of the assistant coaches she was passing the ball to. He played with only her for the 15 minutes she was in that group!

Time to leave, sticks together for a little lacrosse goodbye cheer!
