And now my little girl is getting so big! I can't believe she is almost 8 already!!! Where did the last 7 1/2 years go?
This past Saturday I woke up, and the thought entered my mind. "If Elorna wants to get her ears pierced when she's 8, like I've always told her she could, then maybe we should do it today. So it's 3 weeks before her 8th birthday, but I want her ears healed and happy for our trip to Disneyland!"
So I went into the girls play room with a handful of my cutest little studs, and asked her if she wanted to get her ears pierced. She took one look at all the cool earrings she would get to wear, and said, "YES!!!"
She loved the slug bug earrings but her favorite were the raccoon earrings. Really? What little kid wants to wear dirty little animals in their ears, but that's my girl!
So we got dressed and decided that we should have a Starbucks first, before the big event, which by the way, Jack had no clue we were doing.

Then it was off to Clair's to get it done! We had to look at all the earrings for quite some time before we found the perfect ones. First she wanted ones with pretty little stones in it, but I told her that they would catch in her hair and that could hurt. I'm telling you, I wish everyone was blessed with a kid who believes everything you say about pain!
She was so happy about getting her ears pierced, she kept asking when she cold change these plain white gold ball earrings for her raccoon ones. I told her 6 to 8 weeks, just in time for Disneyland, she seemed okay with that!
I filled out paperwork, while Elorna sat there patiently, watching everything the lady was doing to get ready. I don't remember how sterile everything was when I got mine done, all those hundreds of years ago, but now they are really into cleaning everything like 3 times! Thank goodness!
She did great, held really still and it was over in a moment! It took her a few seconds to start crying because of the shock, but the crying really only lasted about 30 seconds, then if faded into a low whimper. She is a trouper. And it must be said that she cried worse and for a much longer amount of time when she did her flu snorter yesterday after school! I told her that, and that made her smile...for a moment.
And 15 minutes later, she was all smiles, playing at the play area with her little sister! She told me right after they pierced her ears that she was never getting that done again, I told her good!
ha, ha! I miss you guys. Let me check this as another reason I'm glad I don't have girls. I will be taking my boys to the tattoo parlor.
