Music Friday!

It is always interesting to me, the differences friends have in music. I know for a fact that most of my friends do not share in my passionate love for Del Amitri , or Justin Currie for that matter.

How can you drive for 12 hours in a car with someone and have to listen to the horrid sounds emitted by their speakers? Sometimes it's almost criminal, the things we have to endure in our friends cars! But people grow up differently, and sometimes they pick up a few musical traits from their parents or other siblings, that's understandable.
But what about family members that have such different tastes in music? My sister (Though I love her dearly) has some of the most bizarre tastes in music I have ever come across. She listens to American Indian music, Classical, and the occasional tune by Tori Amos.

We grew up together, and I'm pretty sure in the 3 1/2 years before I came along my parents didn't subject her to anything as dysfunctional as Tori through our old turntable.
So what is it that makes some people like one kind of music, and another something totally different. As far as Holly and I go, I'm certain we will never agree on music, unless you're talking about the two exceptions, The Monkees and Jefferson Airplane.
The amazing Monkees
The incredible Jefferson Airplane

Oh yes, they still Love you folks, They truly do!
Tune in next week, when we delve into the life and music of one of my new favorites! Not sure who yet, but I'm sure it will be good, well to me at least!

  2. Ok, I kinda like Del Amitri, and I love the Monkees. I have no clue who Justin Currie is, though. Me and you have such different tastes, I'm amazed we are still friends! =)
