Last Leg of the Journey

I've been to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium before when I was about 16. It didn't make a huge impression on me, so I wasn't thrilled to go back, however I figured my girls would enjoy it since they are really into animals. My mom has also gone before, I'm guessing she really liked it because going was her idea. So we left Hearst Castle and started our drive down Highway 1. If any of you have ever driven down highway 1 you will understand when I tell you how horrible it was. Not only was it windy, but it was rainy too! A beautiful drive, if you're looking at it from the comforts of your home instead of white knuckling it from behind the wheel!
Trying to find a bathroom on Highway 1 is just ridiculous! Thank goodness it was me that had to go, and not the girls. It seemed to take forever to get there but finally we got there and to our hotel. It was the worst hotel I think I'd ever been in, but we dropped off our stuffed and off to the Aquarium we went!
The first stop on our trip into the ocean of unknown was of course, the jellies! They were beautiful! They had huge tanks of them all over the place. I remembered them from last time, but I think they had more this time, and they were AWESOME!!!

Time to go play! The girls had a blast pretending they were whales.

Go Orcas! The girls school mascot is an orca so we had to take pictures of every orca we could find.

Starfish!!!

My under the sea crew!

It even had really cool textures!

Tidalwave!!!

This was such a cool bridge. Not to mention a cold night! Goodnight Monterrey!

My country girls for a few days! tractor ride with Papa!

Time to see Tangled. As you can imagine they loved it, and so did I!

Elorna's and her buddy Molly!

Here's the girls waving for my friend Chris. Time to go back home!

All smiles, but it wasn't always smiles on the plane, This was us landing I believe.

Our trip was too short, but too long also. I wish we could go down twice a year and play at Disneyland, and Apple Farm. But maybe someday we'll get to go back!
